Frederick is filled with many lovely parks full of great activities for the entire family. The city is also surrounded by some of the most beautiful parks, as well.
National Parks like Monocacy National Battlefield, Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Antietam National Battlefield, and C&O Canal.
State parks like Catoctin Mountain & Cunningham Falls State Park, Gathland, Greenbriar, and Gambrill State Park. Frederick County has numerous parks, like Carroll Creek Wildlife park, Fountain Rock Park, Pinecliff, Fountaindale, and Rose Hill Manor.
The city's largest park is Baker Park. The picturesque linear park is 35 acres and surrounds the portion of Carroll Creek that runs through the center of Frederick from US 15 to Bentz street. Baker Park has multiple playgrounds, ball fields and a swimming pool. During the summer one can enjoy the outdoor theater and music festivals, and take part in the many community activities, the most popular and exciting of which is the July 4th fireworks. There are several other city parks to enjoy.
Frederick County is truly a park-lovers paradise!
