Whether you are visiting Frederick or are a native, the Historic District in Downtown Frederick is a great destination with lots of things to do and see. Bring your camera for some beautiful sites! Here are 10 things to explore in our lovely city:
1. Spend some time at the Community Bridge. This bridge mural was painted by artist William Cochran, with contributions from the Frederick Community. There is a sign with a Key to the many symbols painted on the bridge.
2. Take a carriage ride. You can see the Historic District from the comfort of an open air horse-drawn carriage. On the first Saturday of every month, the trolley is running and it makes a great scenic trip through the Historic District.
3. Visit the Art Galleries. The Delaplaine Art Center, New Vision Gallery, The Amber Coast, The Red Door Gallery, Gallery Wear, McGuire Fine Arts, and The Museum Shop. All in downtown Frederick.
4. Shopping is a must. You could spend days shopping in the Historic District of Frederick. There are over 30 specialty, gift, clothing and toy stores. Visit Downtown Frederick Partnership for an extensive list.
5. Eat To Your Heart's Content. Seriously. The Historic District has some of the most fantastic restaurants. You can find great food for any budget, with every part of the globe representing.

7. Shop for Antiques. There are dozens of antique shops and Malls in Frederick.
8. See a show at the Weinberg. Or see a play at the Maryland Shakespeare Festival, or the Maryland Ensemble Theater.
9. Take a self-guided walking tour of the Historic District. Visit the Historical Society at 24 East Church Street for information.
10. Visit the Civil War Medicine Museum on Patrick Street. The museum is free on First Saturdays.
